Whimsy is…

Satan and I have been in our same ole battle of fear. He tries to scare the life out of me (and succeeds way too often) and I get scared and freeze up. I mean like can barely get dressed some days I find fear so paralyzing.

I find that my power lies in submission to God. The more I stay under His umbrella, the more power and strength I have. When I start feeling brave of my own accord and try to step out from under His will, well… it all goes to Hell in a handbasket. And quickly.

It’s pretty simple. Stay under God = good things. Step out on my own = bad. You really wouldn’t think this would be something I would battle with for years would you? And you know, I’ve always considered myself a smart person.

I stumbled upon Smulo’s blog today. (I think it was the sex posts that led me there) He has an excellent interview with Mark Batterson.
