Whimsy is…

easily distracted

a Julia Roberts fan

I have been a fan of Julia Roberts for quite some time. I loved Pretty Woman. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I mean come on, who doesn’t love a good fairy tale? And although I share no physical characteristics with her, for some reason, in my head, I look just like her. (Please don’t write and tell me about that being a sign of some deep seated psychosis. I am well aware of my alternate realities and I prefer to keep them)

It seems I have a couple of new reasons to like her.
1. She can catch poo one handed.
Sure, we’ve all done it, but I’m glad to know she does too. She goes on to talk about how she feels all her earlier work was just so she would be able to devote herself full time to motherhood. I love that she’s promoting full time motherhood. I hate that she feels like she had to “earn” the right. But, that’s the world we live it.

2. She’s promoting biodiesel.
I am totally convinced that biodiesel is something we should be pushing for. To me it’s a win/win solution. (Unless you have lots of money invested in dinofuels, but we won’t go there today) A few months ago I was this (picture my fingers really close together) close to getting my DH to build a biodiesel processor for our family. I still haven’t given up on the idea, but I am tabling it while we are in this very busy season of our life.

3. She is the mother of twins.
They do have some odd names, but hey, whatever. I have found myself really missing the days of my twins being little. Having 2 - 13 year old girls makes having 2 - 3 year old look like fun. Yes, I know, it’s just because I have selectively blocked out most of those years from my memory. (Again with the delusions, but it’s common with mothers of twins)

So, yep, I am seeing myself looking very glamourous, catching poo from my babies in one hand while effortlessly making our families diesel fuel out of waste vegetable oil with the other. (I may have mentioned before that I am perfectly happy with my delusions and prefer not to analyze them)
