..wasteful
Finances are an ongoing source of concern for me. As a self employed family, I can’t assume I’ll have a certain amount of money next week (or even tomorrow). It seems I’m always asking God to deliver us from a looming financial crisis. OK, that’s exaggerated, but it feels like a crisis to me
Today I was cleaning up the kitchen and I had to throw away several food items because they were left out, or not put away correctly. How could I be so wasteful? I certainly don’t feel like giving my children more when they waste what they have. I am quite ashamed of myself.
I did a quick search on what the Bible says about wastefulness. I found a very intersting article on Bible.com about finances. I expect I will be visiting the article several more times. There is much to be learned there. Jesus Himself spoke on this issue.
John 6:12: “When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.”

Basically, it was after He had just fed the multitudes with the fishes and loaves. I’m sure they were all tired. I know when I’m tired and have a full belly, I’m prone to wanting to laze around. Most nights I do just that. Then right before I go to bed I’m tossing stuff in the refrigerator. Which, of course, leads to wasted food.
I mean, Jesus took the time to have His disciples clean up the leftovers. Surely I could do the same.
